Otago Informational Session on October 30
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is offering an informational session on the Otago Exercise Program on October 30, 2013 from 5:30-7:30 pm at BAYADA Home Health Care, 8670 Wolff Court Building 8, Suite 115, Westminster. Jim Milani, PT, DPT, GCS, Physical Therapist and Program Manager, Senior Living Program at Bayada will be the featured presenter.

The Otago Exercise program is an individually tailored, home-based, balance and strength fall prevention program delivered by a physical therapist over the course of 52 weeks. Otago has been shown to reduce falls by 35 percent among high risk individuals. It is most effective for adults 80 years of age or older, who have fallen within the last year, and who have moderate to severe decreased strength and balance.
The meeting on October 30 will address the following:
•The evidence that the Otago Exercise Program works.
•Case studies of Otago patients, including Colorado examples.
•How to implement a 12-month Otago Program within our Medicare Parts A, B, and C billing system.

Seating is limited, so please register for the Otago session by sending an e-mail to Sallie Thoreson at the Colorado Dept of Public Health and Environment (sallie.thoreson@state.co.us) with the following information: name, agency, e-mail and phone number.
